Summer Make Up Tips;

Hey Guys,

Mel here..

I’m here to share some helpful tips and tricks to help you perfect and manage your make up this Summer. If you were like me, nothing said summer like melting make up, that is before I learned a thing or two. So here are a few tips to keep your make up looking fresh, even when the hot weather has other plans for your face:

1- Primer:

Invest if you don’t already own one. A summer primer shouldn’t feel heavy or like another layer, so look for lightweight formulas. They help to hold your make up in place and should be applied after skincare and before foundation.

2 – Bronzer:

Everyone looks better with a little warmth in their skin, it makes eyes brighter and teeth whiter. Apply where the sun hits you naturally. You are trying to fake where you tan, so think high points; forehead, cheekbones, chin and nose.

3 – Keep Things Light:

Our clothes get lighter in summer, so does our hair, so our make up should too! Less is definitely more to stop your make up creasing and caking in hot weather. A tinted moisturiser and a little bit on concealer where you need it is plenty. But if you feel you need a foundation, lightweight formulas and oil free work best. Also don’t forget your SPF, either your moisturiser or foundation needs to have it to protect your skin against the sun.

4 – Swap the Lippy:

Toss the matte lippy in summer, especially if your lips tend to peel and crack. Stains are a great alternative if you love the Matt look lip, or stick to glosses for fuller looking more moisturised lips. After all, it is summer so don’t forget to play with colour and get adventurous; Tangerines, oranges and grape shades are fun in the sun!
